  • States will now get 10 crore doses this month
  • The average daily can be 40 lakhs for the next 25 days.

The pace of vaccination has been slowing down in the country since the ‘Mega Vaccination Day’ on June 21. From June 21 to 27, a total of 4.13 crore vaccines were administered in 7 days, whereas after that it took 2.82 crore in 7 days … that is, 32% less. At the same time, 7.81 lakh vaccines were administered in Jharkhand from 22 to 28 June, while only 4.94 lakh vaccines were administered from 29 June to 5 July. That is, 36.78% less vaccines were taken.

But, what is worrying is that there is little hope of an increase in vaccination before July 31. The Center has said that states will get 12 crore vaccines this month, out of which 2 crore have been given till July 4. The remaining 10 crore vaccines will be given to the states in the next 25 days.

Vaccines over in many states… Vaccination centers were kept closed

In some states including Maharashtra, Bengal, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, more than half of the vaccination centers are closed due to lack of vaccine. The shortage of vaccines can be estimated in such a way that after June 21, for the next 7 days, more than 65 thousand centers were getting vaccines every day across the country, now only 40 thousand centers were being vaccinated. Here, the Ministry of Health says that 1.67 crore vaccines are left with the states.
