The state government has appointed vice-presidents in three corporations and boards before the announcement of by-elections. Along with this, the government has also appointed two MLAs for the post of Chief Whip and Deputy Chief Whip. BJP MLA from Bhatiyat Bikram Singh Jaryal has been made chief whip, Bhoranj MLA Kamlesh Kumari has been made deputy chief whip. Jaryal has been given the status equal to that of a cabinet minister. MLA Kamlesh Kumari has been given the status equal to that of Minister of State. Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma has issued a notification regarding both the appointments.

These two leaders will get the same salary, allowances and other facilities as the Minister of State. Three appointments have also been made by the state government in the corporation board. In this, Rashmidhar Sood, president of Himachal BJP Mahila Morcha, has been made the vice-chairman of the Tourism Development Board. She will be the first woman leader of the state on this post. The government has also nominated Om Prakash Chaudhary as the vice-chairman of the Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation.

Chaudhary is a BJP leader belonging to Fatehpur assembly constituency of Kangra district. The appointment of Om Prakash Chaudhary to the post of Vice-Chairman of Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation is being considered important before selecting the candidate in the Fatehpur by-election.
