War room meeting: Permission to open swimming pool that has been closed for a long time with certain conditions, administrator expressed concern about overcrowding at Sukhna Lake

In the war room meeting chaired by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore, orders have been issued to implement the same instructions on them by keeping the leaker wands in the category of restaurants, bars and eateries. Now contracts will also be able to open like restaurants, eateries or bars till 10.30 pm. Gatherings can now be held up to 100 people or 50 percent of the capacity of the banquet hall (whichever is less) in a wedding or any other function, provided the hotel and banquet staff should also have at least one dose of the vaccine. Or their RTPCR report should be negative in the last 72 hours.

On Sunday, the obligation to open Sukhna only for four hours in the morning and two hours in the evening was also abolished in the meeting so that people do not gather on the lake. Under the Sports Department, the selected swimming pools should be opened for swimmers and players, but here also the condition will be that they get a dose of the vaccine and they should be tested after every 15 days. In the meeting, concern was expressed over the ever-increasing crowd at Sukhna Lake.

The police authority was instructed to strictly implement the Kovid protocol to be followed at Sukhna Lake. It was also asked to take action to control the crowd here. The administrator said that if such a crowd is gathering even after opening the lake throughout the day, then the option of keeping Sukhna closed on weekends should be considered. The administrator again ordered to clear the road gully before the arrival of monsoon.
