Due to heavy rains in Himachal, the figure of loss of life and property is increasing. Five people have died in rain-related incidents in the state in 24 hours, while 7 people are missing. One person each has lost his life in Bilaspur, Chamba, Kullu, Shimla and Sirmaur. At the same time, four people went missing in Kullu and three in Lahaul-Spiti. Due to the rains, 83 houses have been damaged across the state. Four of these houses were completely destroyed. 79 houses were partially damaged. 35 cowsheds have collapsed.

Eight cattle were also killed in the flood. 94 roads in the state were closed for traffic due to landslides triggered by heavy rains. At the same time, 175 tourists have been trapped due to the blockade of local roads due to landslide in the Pattan valley of Udaipur in Lahaul-Spiti district. These include 60 women and 16 children. There is no hope of opening the closed roads at the moment. For this reason, now with the help of helicopter, preparations are being made to rescue these tourists.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Himachal till August 2. There is a yellow alert of rain in the plains and mid-mountain areas. The weather will remain bad till August 4. The Mass Department has issued a warning to the people to take precaution while coming out of their homes and not to go near the rivers and streams.

Solan | Land sliding took place on Thursday in Bruri on Kalka-Shimla NH number-5. The highway was closed for traffic from 11 am to 1 pm. This land sliding happened due to rain for two days on the straight cutting done for the fourlane. NH was completely closed due to land slide.

Fortunately, no vehicle was hit by the debris that fell from the hill. During the closure of the NH, the police stopped the Shimla-bound traffic at Chambaghat and diverted Via Basal to Kandaghat. Trains going towards Chandigarh were stopped at Kandaghat and diverted to Chambaghat from Sampark road.
