The posting of GM this year has been delayed by seven months due to the negligence of the top leadership of the Railways. It is believed that this posting has been stuck till August 15 even after approval from the PMO due to the monsoon session of Parliament. In such a situation, will it be contrary to tradition this year, including RDSO Lucknow, the posting of nine GMs lying vacant in eight zonal railways will be for the remaining five months and will be able to give their performance to the Railways in five months. In such a situation, it is believed that the posting performance for the new GM can prove to be a crown of thorns.
According to the rules, the posting of all these nine GMs was to be done on January 1, 2021. For this, the chairman of the former Railway Board, VK Yadav, was to be sent to the MR cell prepared by the GM panel. After this, the chairman of the new Railway Board was also negligent in sending the MR cell by forming a GM panel. Later, when the matter got heated, the current Railway Board chairman made a GM panel in the second week of June and sent it to the MR cell, from where the PMO was sent. Vigilance inquiry was called again by the GM as the period of vigilance check was more than 90 days and due to some reasons it got delayed.
After this, the PMO GM panel got the green signal but it is being told that once again the GM’s file is lying in the Railway Board. In this regard, Dainik Bhaskar also messaged Railway Ministry Spokesperson ADG DJ Narayan and Railway Board Chairman Sumeet Sharma and tried to know from them why there was a delay of seven months in GM posting. Who is responsible for the loss caused to Indian Railways due to this. The term of the new GM will be five months or his term will be till 2022 but he did not present his side.
These GMs have additional charges
At present, South Central GM Gajanan Mallya is in charge of South Western and after July 31, RW-F Bangalore is also being given additional charge. Similarly, Alok Kansal, GM of Western Railway is doing the look after of Central Railway. Thomas Varghese, GM, Southern Railway, ICF, NCR is being looked after by VK Tripathi, GM, NER Railway. BLW GM East Central Railway Hajipur and Kolkata Metro GM Manoj Joshi is doing the look after of Eastern Railway.
