Dainik Bhaskar tried to know the mood of the country through the voter survey ‘Mera Vote, Meri Marzi’. The results of the survey conducted on a total of 308 seats in Maharashtra, including 48 Lok Sabha seats, show that it is not easy to understand the public’s attitude this time.

On one hand, the biggest issue for 52% people in Maharashtra is ‘making Narendra Modi the PM again’. On the other hand, there are 33% people who are troubled by increasing unemployment.

About 8 lakh people have given their opinion in this survey which was conducted from April 1 to April 6 in 12 states and one union territory.

Today in our series on the results of the survey, a complete analysis of the answers to the two questions asked in the survey, ‘Will you vote or not’ and ‘If you vote, what is the biggest issue for you’, will be given.

The results of the survey say that this time the previous records of voting in the Lok Sabha elections may be broken. Because 95% people in these 12 states say that they will vote. Even in Maharashtra, 96% people say that they will vote.

67% people voted in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections…this was the largest voter turnout in the history of Indian democracy.

Come, let us understand these things in detail.

First of all…if you want to know the result of the survey on your seat then click here.

Youngsters and women are more likely to be among those who intend not to vote.

In the survey, 96% people of Maharashtra have expressed their intention to vote. Although this figure may fall on the actual voting day, the enthusiasm still suggests that the 2019 turnout record may be broken.

The number of people expressing their intention not to vote may be small, but their analysis shows some worrying trends.

If divided according to age, most of those who did not vote are between the age group of 18 to 30. If we look at it in terms of gender, there are more women than men among those who did not vote.

Now understand, who will vote on which issue?

Making Modi PM again is the biggest issue in Maharashtra

Five issues related to pro-incumbency were put before the survey participants-

  • Narendra Modi has to be made PM again
  • India has to be made world leader
  • Uniform Civil Code has to be implemented
  • We have to restore the glory of every temple like Ram temple.
  • Pak-China have to give a strong answer

At the same time, 5 issues related to anti-incumbency were also raised –

  • To eliminate rising unemployment
  • The situation is bad due to inflation, need relief
  • Government has to change otherwise dictatorship will come
  • We have to end the injustice being done to farmers.
  • Development is needed, not temples and mosques.

The survey results show that Narendra Modi’s popularity in Maharashtra seems to outweigh all other issues. Issues related to pro-incumbency have been considered as the biggest issue by 52% of the people considering ‘Making Narendra Modi PM again’. At the same time, the number of people who consider increasing unemployment as the biggest issue is 33%.

If we look at the overall data of 12 states, the picture is somewhat different. Making Narendra Modi PM is a big issue for 48% people, while increasing unemployment is a big concern for 37% people.

In the survey, every user could choose any 4 issues from the list of 10 issues. Here we have calculated what percentage of people who filled the survey chose which issue.

It is also possible that the user who chose ‘Narendra Modi as PM again’ as an issue may have also chosen increasing unemployment as an issue.

Rising unemployment is the biggest issue for the youth, women are more worried about it than men.

If we divide the information received from the survey according to age group and gender, a different picture of the choice of issues is visible.

For example, increasing unemployment is the biggest issue for 46% of people aged 18 to 30 in Maharashtra. At the same time, for 64% of people aged 55+ years, ‘Narendra Modi has to be made PM’ is the biggest issue.

Those who chose the issue of rising unemployment are 32% men, while 44% are women. This means that this seems to be a matter of concern for women more than for men.
