The Congress government of Captain Amarinder Singh is fully responsible for the decision of the government doctors of Punjab to leave work and go on strike, as the Captain government has ended many financial benefits of doctors in the name of pay-commission. This statement has been given by the state president of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab and MP Bhagwant Mann. He has demanded that the Captain Government should immediately restore their allowances by accepting the demands of the striking doctors.
In a statement issued from the party’s main office on Sunday, Bhagwant Mann and the state head of the party’s doctor wing, Dr. Ravjot said that the Captain Government of Punjab has played a big joke with all the government employees of Punjab in the name of pay commission, as the employees are facing huge financial loss instead of getting financial benefits due to the government’s decision.
Mann alleged that the Captain government has reduced the non-practice allowance of doctors from 25 per cent to 20 per cent, which the party strongly condemns. Dr. Ravjot said that when the government doctors of the state opposed this decision of the Congress government and fought for their rights, Captain Amarinder Singh, who became a dictator, forcibly transferred the leaders of the doctors to far-flung areas.
He said that the behavior of the Captain Government with the doctors serving the people of Punjab by risking their lives during the Corona period is highly condemnable. Bhagwant Mann and Dr. Ravjot said that the outbreak of corona epidemic from Punjab has not ended and a third wave of corona is being warned. In such a situation, killing the rights of doctors does not suit the Congress government.
AAP leaders have demanded from the Punjab government that doctors should be given allowances along with basic salary on the lines of the initiative and the transfers of the struggling doctor leaders should be canceled immediately, so that the doctors can treat the people during the third wave without worry. .
