A case under sections 323 and 504 of the IPC has been registered at Ghatkopar police station on the complaint of the woman’s father.
A brother-in-law poured acid on his sister-in-law’s face in Ghatkopar area of the city. In this incident, the woman’s face is badly burnt and she has been admitted to the ICU. The police arrested the accused after the complaint of the woman’s father. Investigation has revealed that the accused did not like the woman to work outside the house.
The incident which took place on Thursday took place in Munir Bashir Ghaswala Chawl in Parshiwadi area. According to information received from Ghatkopar police station, the woman’s husband has died a few days ago. Due to poor financial condition, the woman started working in a jewelery shop near the house. This thing was irritating to his brother-in-law Prabuddha. He repeatedly asked the woman to leave the job and when the woman did not agree, he poured a bottle of acid on her face on Thursday.
Jeweler also burnt to save the woman
Ghatkopar police officer said that at the time when acid was thrown at the woman, shop Malik Sudhanshu Pramanik was also present in the jewelery shop there. Due to this, the hands and mouth of the shop owner have also been burnt. After this incident, both were taken to the nearest hospital, where they are undergoing treatment and the condition of the woman is said to be critical. In this case, Ghatkopar police arrested accused Prabuddha Kamble by registering a case under sections 323 and 504 of IPC.
