Central probe agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Raj Singh Gehlot, owner of Ambience Mall in Gurugram in connection with the bank fraud case. After that he will be produced in a Delhi court. According to ED officials, the arrest has been made in the bank loan fraud case. Gehlot is accused of forgery of more than 200 crore bank loans. Along with this, Raj Singh is also accused of building a commercial mall on residential land by meeting politicians and officials. The land on which this mall was built was for a housing project. Earlier, the CBI had also registered a case against Raj Singh Gehlot.

CBI is also interrogating Gehlot

The Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed the CBI to investigate the case of alleged illegal construction of a commercial building on about 18.98 acres of land in Gurugram. It was alleged that the land on which Ambience Mall has been built was for a housing project. The CBI had registered a case on the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court against a private person, Gehlot, Ambience Limited and Ambience Developers and Infrastructure Private Limited and Hooda, unknown officials of the Town and Country Planning Department and unknown private persons. Let us tell you that the ED and CBI had raided many places of Gehlot last year.

Raids were conducted at seven locations on Friday

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday morning raided seven places in Delhi, including the residential premises of Raj Singh Gehlot. The locations where the raids were carried out included the office premises of other companies of Aman Hospitality and Ambience Group and whereabouts of other company officials.

Cash worth Rs 16 lakh and foreign currency worth Rs 24 lakh recovered

Besides Gehlot, office premises of Aman Hospitality Pvt Ltd and other companies of Ambience Group including office premises of his relatives and associates were searched. ED officials had said that during the search of Raj Singh Gehlot’s residence, Rs 16 lakh in cash and foreign currency equivalent to about Rs 24 lakh have been recovered. The ED team has also recovered many suspicious documents and digital evidence during the search.
