National Highway 5 connecting Shimla to Kinnaur was closed due to continuous heavy landslides. On Sunday too, the National Highway was once again completely closed due to heavy landslides near Badhal on the border of Rampur and Kinnaur. Vehicular movement was again disrupted. People are now waiting for the opening of the National Highway. Incessant rains are wreaking havoc in Kinnaur district. Due to which frequent landslides in low-lying areas blocked National Highway 5. People are also forced to travel on this National Highway by risking their lives, because there is only National Highway-5 to go from Shimla to Kinnaur and Kinnaur to Shimla. In such a situation, there is always a risk of major accidents happening here.

Debris from the hill came on Sunday

On Sunday, suddenly around 1:30 pm, debris fell from the hill near Badhal. Due to which National Highway-5 was closed again. There was a queue of vehicles on both sides of the highway. The work of sending machines here has started from the administration. The machines had not yet reached the spot to open the highway. In such a situation, it will take a long time to open the highway. A considerable amount of debris has also fallen from the hill. In order to restore National Highway-5 at the earliest, the administration of both the districts will have to install machines on their behalf, so that the highway can be restored by evening.

Significantly, National Highway-5 has been closed from four different places within a month. First of all, Batseri, then Nigulseri, Pagal Nala and Juri also closed the National Highway due to heavy landslides. Now the highway near Badhal on the border of Kinnaur and Rampur is again closed due to landslides.
