A local court sentenced a man to death in 2017 for brutally killing his mother and then eating her heart, kidneys and intestines with salt and pepper. Sentencing the accused on Thursday, District and Sessions Judge Mahesh Jadhav said that such a heinous case has not been seen till date. Therefore the accused should be given the harshest punishment.

Sunil Kuchikorvi, 35, was in jail since the incident. However, he still has several options to appeal against the sentence.

The accused had confessed to eating body parts
This heinous incident took place on August 28, 2017 in Makkadwala Vashat area of ​​Kolhapur. According to the chargesheet, Sunil killed his 62-year-old mother with a knife. When the body of the elderly woman was recovered, many parts of them were cut and every part was covered with salt and pepper. When the police caught Sunil, blood was dripping from his mouth. Later he also confessed to eating the mother’s organ.

After the neighbors informed about the matter, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused with a big knife. There was no eyewitness to the incident, but the court has awarded the death sentence on the basis of circumstantial evidence and his confession. Twelve people also testified in this case, including relatives and neighbors of the accused. Everyone told that the accused used to get out of control after drinking alcohol.
