The network of Maulana Umar Gautam, the operator of Islamic Dawa Center, the mastermind of conversion in Uttar Pradesh, is spread across the country. Three accused from Maharashtra involved in this syndicate have been arrested by UP ATS on Saturday. ATS team is bringing all three to Lucknow and they will be interrogated by bringing them here.
ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar said that Umar Gautam, Mufti Jehangir Alam, Salauddin, Irfan Sheikh, Rahul Bhola, Mannu Yadav alias Abdul Mannan have been arrested in the case of conversion.
Told that with the clues found in their interrogation, ATS has arrested Prakash Kanwre alias Adam, Kausar Alam and Dr Arslan alias Bhupriya Bandon from Nagpur, Maharashtra, associated with the agenda of illegal conversion of Umar Gautam. They are being brought from Nagpur to Lucknow by road. Police custody remand of these accused could be done for thorough interrogation.
This is how the network of accused spread
- The main character of Maharashtra Network is Prakash Kambre aka Adam, a resident of Ganeshpeth, Nagpur, Maharashtra. Its age is 30 years and education is graduate. His wife Mai Hassan Ali is a citizen of Egypt.
- Adam Umar was continuously conducting the activity of conversion in the state of Maharashtra by keeping in touch with Gautam.
- Adam is connected to other members of Umar Gautam’s Maharashtra network including Dr. Arslan, Vijay Vargiya, Dr. Faraz and other important people. He is also active on social media groups for religious conversion. Apart from Egypt, it has contacts with Central Asia and other Muslim-majority countries. Due to this contact, he is engaged in the work of promoting Islamic propaganda.
- Kausar Alam son Saukat Ali is originally from Lohia Bagh, Dhanbad, Jharkhand, whose age is about 51 years. It trades in seeds. Its business has spread to other states also.
- Kaushar Alam has an old relationship with Umar Gautam. Under the guise of trade, they are involved in a conspiracy to encourage conversion in the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka etc. Apart from Umar Gautam, it has relations with Adam, Aslan and other associates of the network.
- Kausar has been participating in the NCR region since the year 2018 in Revert Get Together organized by Umar Gautam along with Adam and Arslan.
- Dr. Arslan alias Bhupriya Bando is originally from Ghamosi, District-Garh Chirauli Maharashtra. Hijama has been associated with therapy for many years. It is related to Vipul Vijay Vargiya, Adam and other members of the network, who work in areas like Maharashtra for Umar Gautam’s conversion agenda. The work of funding Umar and his Maharashtra network is looked after by Arslan.

- Bhupriya Bando alias Arslan Mustafa son Devi Das Mankar, age 29, native village Chaumashi, District-Garh Chirauli Hall Address Room No. 103, Deluxe Caten, Hashapuri Nagpur, Maharashtra
